How long does it take for a solar system to pay for itself?

People always say that solar pays for itself with the lower power bills, but it takes a while right? I'm looking to "go solar" in San Marcos but want to know more about when I can expect to earn money back. Thank you.

It really depends on a few different things. You need to find out what incentives you'll be able to take advantage of, the size of your solar installation, and also how much you'll pay out of pocket.

Without that information it's hard to get an exact year estimation. However, most solar systems have a return on investment of 7% to 15% each year (at current electricity rates).
