If solar panels really raise the value of my home, will my taxes go up?

So I've heard a lot of people making the claim that solar panels raise your property values. Is this really a good thing if it means I'll be paying higher taxes on it? I'm wondering because I'm still pretty on the fence about installing solar panels, but I've been looking around in San Leandro.

Actually, under California law your property taxes cannot increase from solar panels, even if your property value increases. So you don't have to worry about any unexpected taxes coming your way after going solar!
